MEET OUR PASTORS

Our St. John's campus is led by Rod Kalajainen. He graduated from Asbury University with a BA in History and Secondary Education, Asbury Theological Seminary with an MDIV degree, and United Theological Seminary with a Doctorate of Ministry. Since coming to Redeemer in 1988, his hope has been that this congregation will have both impact and influence in the communities we serve. That they will "be the church" beyond the walls of our building and serve others in need, as well as "connect people with the love and life of Jesus Christ." Through Redeemer, he also assists other churches in taking steps toward being healthy and vital congregations.

Rod is married to his wife Jan. Together they have three children and nine grandchildren. He enjoys golfing and spending time with his family up north.
Our DeWitt campus is led by Debbie Thomas. She graduated from Taylor University with BA in Psychology and a minor in Bible and earned her MDIV Degree from Ashland Theological Seminary.  She believes that we are better together as the body of Christ and aims to invite more people to join God’s family. She finds great joy in helping people connect with Christ to let them grow in their faith through worship, small groups, and serving. It is her desire to present Biblical truths in a way that is relevant to our everyday lives.

Debbie is married to her husband Paul and they have one son who is a sophomore in high school. She loves to run, read, and spend time with her family. Recently, she had the chance to run 8.2 miles around Mackinac Island and survived the trip!
