About Pastor Rod
Rod Kalajainen has served Redeemer Church for over 34 years and has led the St. Johns campus since 2020. He retired from full-time ministry in June 2022 after 40 years of service, but continues to lead the St. Johns campus in a part-time capacity.

Rod graduated from Asbury University with a Bachelors Degree in History and Secondary Education, Asbury Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree, and United Theological Seminary with a Doctorate of Ministry.

Since coming to Redeemer in 1988, his hope has been that this congregation will have both impact and influence in the communities we serve. His desire is that Redeemer will "be the church" beyond the walls of our building and serve others in need, as well as "connect people with the love and life of Jesus Christ." Through Redeemer, he also assists other churches in taking steps toward being healthy and vital congregations.

Rod is married to his wife Jan. Together they have three children and nine grandchildren. He enjoys golfing and spending time with his family up north.
